If the Toronto Blue Jays are looking to bring back Bo Bichette next season, it appears that they might have to fight off a divisional rival to do so.
According to Ari Alexander from the Boston-based news station 7News, the Red Sox recently had a Zoom meeting with the longtime Blue Jays star.
As per Alexander's sources, the meeting "went well on both sides", with the Red Sox clearly showing strong interest in the two-time All-Star.

It went well on both sides, per sources.

Toronto's front office has repeatedly stated that it wants to bring back Bichette, though the team has also been heavily linked to a megadeal for outfielder Kyle Tucker.
After already spending $210 million this offseason on starting pitcher Dylan Cease, it's still yet to be determined what they'll be willing to spend in the rest of free agency.
Bichette had a .311 batting average with 181 hits, 18 home runs, 94 RBIs, and 78 runs scored in 139 games in 2025.
But a knee injury suffered by the 27-year-old shortstop in early September resulted in him sitting on the sidelines through both the ALDS and ALCS, before being healthy enough to be a part of the Blue Jays roster for the World Series.
A World Series Game 7 go-ahead home run by Bichette could've been an all-time great MLB moment, but it quickly got lost in the shuffle once the game went to extra innings and the Blue Jays ultimately ended up losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Bichette, who has never graded out all that positively defensively, could end up seeing a position switch next season. During the World Series, he was switched to second base for the first time in his MLB career.
In any case, Bichette will remain one of the most closely-watched free agents this winter until the moment he ends up signing a new contract.
