How Toronto's Rogers Centre transforms from baseball to concert mode

Ever wonder how the Rogers Centre in Toronto changes over from baseball to concert mode?

Rogers Centre has undergone quite the transformation since the Toronto Blue Jays last played there on Sunday afternoon.

With a pair of Metallica concerts set for Thursday and Friday, staff got right to work after the game.

Preparing for any type of concert at a sports venue is no easy feat, especially when it's for a group that puts on a show to the level of Metallica. Staff worked through the night, per Metallica photographer Jeff Yeager, transforming the ballpark into a rock venue from 4:36 p.m. Sunday night to 6 a.m. Monday morning.

The work was far from done at that point. After the grounds were covered, towers needed to be installed for the upcoming shows, while other big pieces, including the stage, had to be brought into Rogers Centre.

"Tower build took [until] 8 a.m. [Tuesday]," Yeager wrote on Instagram. "Now, the stage, audio, and video (and everything else!) is being loaded in today!"

Yeager documented the transformation here:

The business will continue into next week for the groundskeepers, as the Blue Jays will return to Rogers Centre next Tuesday for the first of a three-game series versus the divisional rival Boston Red Sox.
