Canadian loyalty program teases a fresh chapter with summer 2026 transformation

The AIR MILES Rewards Program Canadians know and love will be transitioning to Blue Rewards this summer.

Get ready for a simpler, more flexible rewards program designed to bring more value to Canadians’ everyday spending.

Expect enriched benefits, new partners, and a streamlined digital experience that will empower millions of members to earn more, redeem faster, and make real financial progress.

Rising costs of everyday essentials and digital-first habits are changing the way we spend. This transition is all about meeting Canadians' wants and needs by integrating loyalty into everyday purchases, rather than being an afterthought.

Modern spending habits require modern solutions, so Blue Rewards is designed for how we shop today.

The big launch is officially happening this summer, and until then, here’s everything you need to know about Blue Rewards.

Blue Rewards value

First things first: what will happen to your existing Miles? Current collectors needn’t worry, because Miles will automatically transfer to Blue Points in summer
2026, with no value lost. There is a new equation to remember, though: 1,500 Blue Points is $10 toward e-giftcards and in-lane redemptions.

New partners, more ways to earn

This transition also brings new partners into the fold, which means more everyday opportunities for you to earn value from your regular spending.

New strategic Blue Rewards program partners include Porter Airlines, all beloved Accor Group hotel brands including Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Novotel, and SLS Hotels, Instacart, and MTY Group restaurants (think Thai Express, Bâton Rouge, and Mr. Sub), among others. This is only the beginning, stay tuned for more!

Bigger and better

Part of the transition includes the continued combining of Miles into a single balance.

Previously separated into Cash (for your everyday essentials) and Dream (for the big-ticket items on your moodboard), the program has now simplified into a single balance. This means a more flexible and rewarding experience that gives you the freedom to use your Miles – soon Blue Points – however you choose.

And for those who bank with BMO, the program is about to get even more rewarding
BMO customers will unlock credit and debit products with built-in accelerators on gas, groceries, and wholesale purchases. Earning more every day has never been so simple!

Looking to travel in 2026? Get excited — the transition to Blue Rewards also includes an enhanced travel platform, providing access to more flights, hotels, and car rentals through a streamlined booking experience. Plus, you’ll be able to use Blue Points to cover some or the entire cost of your booking, up to you!

Mark your calendars and stay tuned to the Blue Rewards website for more exciting updates to come.
