Have you ever wondered what it would be like to watch a vibrant fireworks spectacle over Ontario's Niagara Falls from right on the water? Well, this summer, you can.
This summer, one of Ontario's most well-known sightseeing cruise operators, City Cruises Canada, is offering an unforgettable way to experience fireworks in both Niagara Falls and Gananoque, bringing visitors closer to the action than ever before.
The company says more travellers are seeking immersive holiday experiences rather than traditional viewing spots at popular destinations.
"Fireworks are meant to be experienced, not just watched," Mory DiMaurizio, Chief Operating Officer, City Cruises Canada, said in a release, adding that seeing them from the water creates a more memorable moment.
In Niagara Falls, the popular Falls Fireworks Cruise returns for the season on May 15, just in time for the Victoria Day long weekend. The roughly 40-minute evening experience runs on weekends and holidays before moving to nightly departures beginning June 19, including through Canada Day.
Cruises depart at 9:30 p.m. and include sweeping nighttime views of the illuminated falls before fireworks light up the sky overhead. The cruise also takes guests through the light mist near the base of the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, while offering stunning nighttime views of Ontario's Niagara Falls and the Canadian Horseshoe Falls.
Meanwhile, in Gananoque, in the 1000 Islands region, two special holiday sailings are planned for July 1 and July 4.
Anyone hoping to snag a spot may want to book sooner rather than later, as the company expects the holiday sailings to sell out quickly.
This cruise comes right in time for the upcoming Victoria Day fireworks taking place on May 18 at Niagara Falls. So, if you want to get a head start, now's a great time to check the show from the water.
But if you're travelling elsewhere for the long weekend, there are still plenty of places in Ontario offering great views of the fireworks while you tune in from afar.
Tickets for the Falls Fireworks Cruise start at $47.95 plus applicable taxes and fees, and can be purchased online.
Each ticket also includes a complimentary recyclable mist poncho that guests can take home as a souvenir.
