ttc holiday train 2025

TTC holiday train is back for 2025 and here's what it looks like

It's time to board the TTC's annual Holiday Train and kickstart the winter festivities.

Starting Dec. 10, Toronto residents can hop on the train, which will run along Line 1 throughout the season. But the seasonal spirit isn't just limited to the underground subway. Streetcar riders are in for a treat, too.

Four fully decorated streetcars — complete with wrapped exteriors — will also be hitting the streets to spread the TTC's festive spirit. One of them has even been transformed into an immersive experience with interior decor.

From the sounds of it, transitgoers have already started spotting the Holiday Train on Line 1, creating some fun buzz around the program.

Of course, the city is no stranger to these decked-out trains, with the TTC introducing decorative trains during the holiday season — including a gingerbread-themed train in 2023 — year after year.

The Holiday Train and decorated streetcars will run from Dec. 10 to Jan. 5, 2026. Guests can catch the Holiday Train daily from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The announcement of the annual Holiday Train comes just days after the opening of Line 6, a monumental event for the city that took place on Dec. 7.
