Man charged for threatening to kill Rob Ford

Well, insert joke here — but this really was bound to happen, wasn't it? 56 year-old Anthony Vella has been charged for uttering death threats against Toronto mayor Rob Ford. And through 311, no less!

Although the police arrested the perpetrator back on July 14th, they did not identify the target of the threats. Ford, however, revealed this information earlier today in response to questions about extra security at City Hall for the marathon executive committee meeting currently underway.

But, lest one think the mayor a wimp, he shrugged off the incident. "I don't take it that seriously," he said. Depending on how these service cuts go down, though, he might want consider extra security just in case.
