Andy Barrie, formerly of CBC Radio's Metro Morning will be joining Ryerson University as a very important-sounding Distinguished Scholar in Residence in the Faculty of Communication & Design.

Barrie will collaborate with several of the faculty's schools on special projects, as well as develop a special interview series focusing on media and communications. Barrie's role will also include faculty and student guidance and curriculum shaping.

"It's almost impossible for me to imagine my thirty-plus years as a Toronto broadcaster without the support of so many Ryerson grads along the way," Barrie said in a release. "As a Distinguished Scholar in Residence, I look forward to sharing my passion for radio, journalism and storytelling with this next generation of Canadian communicators."
