Smitherman unimpressed with Ford's two paycheques

Mayoral candidate George Smitherman lambasted Rob Ford today for double dipping. Ford accepts a city councillor wage, along with pay from his family's private business.

"Councillor Ford is able to rub in the face of other councillors that he buys his own paper clips," Smitherman said. "Well, he's able to buy his own paper clips because he works part-time as a city councillor and he works part-time as a private business person."

Just to shut them up, I'll buy them both paperclips.

Ford brushed off the criticism saying Smitherman has no credibility on the issue since he was in Queen's Park when MPPs voted themselves a 25 per cent pay increase in 2006.
