The fate of the streetcar involved in the World Cup celebration on College

One College streetcar is off the tracks today after some rather rambunctious World Cup fans decided to use it as a celebratory podium.

Fans started swarming and climbing the car after the 1-0 win, despite the obvious risk of electrocution. Luckily, officials had cut power to the car as celebrations commenced.

According to TTC spokesman Brad Ross, the streetcar had two rear windows broken and a damaged rooftop bracket. Five vent window seals were also broken. Ross said the TTC will likely not be going after the fans to cover the damage.

That means you, you lucky fare/taxpayer, will be replacing those broken windows! Enjoy.
