Hot Ticket: Living With Lions, Band of Horses, Frank Turner, Gwar, Eamon McGrath, Two Door Cinema Club, & Diamond Rings

Live music picks for WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 20 through TUESDAY OCTOBER 26, 2010.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 20 / LIVING WITH LIONS / SNEAKY DEE'S / 431 COLLEGE ST / $8 / 19+
It'll be an early show (over by 11pm) at Sneaky Dee's tonight featuring Vancouver's Living With Lions, who are there to celebrate guitarist/vocalist Chase Brenneman's birthday, as well as wrapping the recording process on their upcoming album. Accompanying them will be Bathurst and Bitter Hearts, who will open the evening at 8PM.

THURSDAY OCTOBER 21 / BAND OF HORSES / KOOL HAUS / 132 QUEENS QUAY E / $30 / ALL AGES
Seattle, Washington's Southern indie rockers, Band Of Horses, continue their tour in support of Infinite Arms, their latest LP, when they hit the Kool Haus on Thursday. Hopefully you got your tickets in advance because this one is sold out and is definitely a must-see show this week.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 22 / FRANK TURNER / HORSESHOE TAVERN / 368 QUEEN ST W / $15 / 19+
Frank Turner's love-affair with Toronto continues when he returns to the legendary Horseshoe Tavern on Friday. When blogTO sat down with Turner back in January, he was "riding high on the success of Poetry of the Deed". Now, his relentless touring brings him back full-circle, but this time he'll be headlining with his brand of Celtic-style folk rock.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 23 / GWAR / OPERA HOUSE / 735 QUEEN ST E / $33 / 19+
Though a week shy of Devil's night/Halloween, notorious shock-rockers, Gwar bring their even more notorious live show to the Opera House on Saturday. Prepare for a night of costumes, blood, horror, and fun. Joining them will be equally established New Jersey hardcore-punk band, The Casualties.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 24 / EAMON MCGRATH / RANCHO RELAXO / 300 COLLEGE ST / $7 / 19+
Two Way Monologues presents a rare Sunday show at Rancho Relaxo when Eamon McGrath, a unique and gritty singer-songwriter garnering attention from his most recent release Peace Maker, headlines an evening with an equally unique line-up. Also on the bill is: Holzkopf, Trashface, and Freida Abtan.

MONDAY OCTOBER 25 / TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB / PHOENIX / 410 SHERBOURNE ST / $16.50 / 19+
Northern Ireland's, Two Door Cinema Club, plan to dance the night away when they bring their alternative electropop to the Phoenix on Monday. The trio only have a couple dates in Canada before heading back into the U.S. on their way home to Europe, so make sure you catch them while they're here.

TUESDAY OCTOBER 26 / DIAMOND RINGS / THE GARRISON / 1197 DUNDAS ST W / $10.50 / 19+
Toronto's own, Diamond Rings has been garnering plenty of critical acclaim as of late and, on the heels of his latest video for "Something Else", looks to continue to do so with a hometown show at The Garrison on Tuesday.
