Here's what it's like inside the new Zellers location in Toronto

Beloved Canadian retail brand Zellers is officially back in Toronto, and shoppers who have been missing the nostalgia are finally getting another chance to step inside.

After a wave of closures that first began in 2013, the iconic discount chain closed its last remaining store in 2020, and since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for its comeback. 

The new location on Orfus Road near Yorkdale Mall officially opened its doors on Thursday, June 18. The 25,000-square-foot store features long aisles filled with food, clothing, housewares and more. It also marks the return of the iconic Zellers Diner, where shoppers can once again grab grub like the signature Big Z Burger.

Here's a look inside the new Zellers store in Toronto.The familiar red-and-white brand is back in Toronto and shoppers can grab branded merch like hats and t-shirts.

Speaking of t-shirts, there's no shortage of kids' clothing to stock up on for summer, or, dare I say, back-to-school shopping.

If you want to spruce up your living room or patio, there's a big aisle of colourful throw pillows and patterned blankets. 

Toys at Zellers are plenty, featuring popular brands like Hello Kitty and Toy Story.

The home goods section has plenty to browse, with modern, minimalist-designed vases, plates and cups. 

If you're moving into a new apartment this summer, Zellers has all the items you'd need: wine glasses, cutting boards, utensils, you name it. 

I know what aisle I'm hitting up first: the snack aisle. 

But before you grab a cart and start shopping, you might want to let your kids give this iconic red sports car a ride. 

Now that Zellers is back in our lives and in our city, it's going to be fun introducing the next generation to the Canadian brand so many of us grew up with.
