This Week in Fashion: Shop Til You Drop, One Night Stand, DIScONNECT Fashion Film Festival, and Spearmint Pelican's Fall Sample Sale

This Week in Fashion rounds up the week's style news, store openings and closings, pop-up shops, sales and upcoming fashion and design events in Toronto. Find it here every Wednesday morning.

EVENTS/PARTIES

Today (October 10), Lou Lou Magazine's Shop Til You Drop is hitting Toronto's Bloor Street West from 5 pm until 9 pm. The magical shopping event will offer sweet discounts at stores including Holt Renfrew, deluxe swag bags, a chance to win a $1000 shopping spree, fashion blogger guest hosts, and a performance by Dragonette at Roots (100 Bloor St W)! Find out more and register through Lou Lou Magazine.

Starting tomorrow (October 11), Toronto-based online shop Koopdekour is hosting their very first pop-up shop at Love of Mine (781 Queen St W). See their trendy clothes and accessories up close and personal until October 25th, or join fashion blogger host Gracie Carroll on opening night from 5 pm until 9 pm.

After great success with their first pop-up shop, Nowhereland is throwing a shopping party tomorrow (October 11) night from 7:30 pm until 11:30 pm. Head to the main floor of the Burroughes Building (639 Queen St W) for 10% off everything and complimentary drinks, "because they luh you!"

Leave it to 69 Vintage to host the best events for local vintage enthusiasts! This Friday (October 12), head to 109OZ (109 Ossington Ave) from 5 pm onwards for One Night Stand - a night full of drinks, dancing, and (of course!) vintage vendors including Magwood, Bridge + Bardot and Pretty Freedom. With music by Travis Richel and catering by Parts + Labour, this is an event you won't want to miss.

Wear your fetish attire to the Sound Academy (11 Polson St) this Saturday (October 13) for Northbound Leather's 16th annual Fetish Fashion Show: Dream. With a theme built around books like Fifty Shades of Grey and inspirational figures such as Spartacus, fantasy erotic fashions made using Canadian-designed leather, rubber, and chain mail will walk the runway on models including Heavyweight Boxing Champion of Canada Ray Olubowale and Competitive Fitness Model Helen Petras.

The DIScONNECT Fashion Film Festival is back for its 5th bi-annual party at The Hoxton (69 Bathurst St) on Monday (October 15). Short fashion films featuring Greg Swales, Gabriele Gettman, and more will be projected all over the venue, intermixed with a musical performance by Lioness.

SALES

Although fall has only just begun, we're already smack in the middle of fall sale season, meaning Spearmint Pelican's giant sample sale is just around the corner. From tomorrow (October 11) 'til Saturday (October 13), you can get your clothes, shoes, and accessories from brands like Wesc, Obey, New Balance, and more, at up to 75% off.

And, finally, here's a great video someone sent us about the women behind Harbord St. hair salon The Saloon.
