After setting up shop at the Toronto Harbourfront for an extended summer stay, a local mobile dessert shop is getting some extra sweet attention these days.
As the FIFA World Cup invites an influx of visitors to Toronto, so too have local businesses seen visitor volumes beyond their wildest dreams. Toronto-based mobile dessert bar business Sweet Minis is no exception.
Though the business has been around since 2024, summer 2026 is already promising new heights, largely thanks to a fortuitous opportunity to set up shop at the Harbourfront Centre from June 11 through July 11 — a stone's throw from The Canada Soccer House, during the precise dates that the tournament is in the city.
At its conception, though, Sweet Minis was never meant to serve the public en masse.
The business originated as a pop-up booth for weddings and parties, serving miniature pancakes topped with whatever the diner so chose: fresh fruits, candy, syrups and whipped cream.
In 2025, Sweet Minis upgraded to its now instantly recognizable airstream trailer, expanding to offer Dubai chocolate-strawberry cups (oh, 2025), frothy milkshakes, and flavoured lemonade at a swath of festivals all summer long.
Now, in 2026, the shop is on to even bigger and better things — not just in terms of the massive audience it's tapping at the Harbourfront. This year, the latest viral offering to join the roster is scoopable cookies.
Made fresh every day, the dough is served hot, scooped into a cup, and topped with ice cream and chocolate drizzle, ready to sate your sweet tooth. You'll have to act fast if you want to get your hands on some, though, because it has a habit of selling out almost daily.
If you want to try your luck, you can visit Sweet Minis at the Harbourfront Centre every day until July 11, and even if you don't score some scoopable cookies, there's always a full suite of mini pancakes, waffles, matcha and lemonade to tide you over.
