New bakery coming soon to Toronto is making a bid for the city's favourite cookies

There's a new bakery landing in Toronto soon that specializes in cookies — will they have what it takes to become the city's new favourite?

You don't have to look far in Toronto to find a decent cookie when the craving arises. Homegrown chains like Craig's and Andrea's are only continuing to expand across the city, while each neighbourhood has its own go-to bakery that makes a mean chocolate chip.

If your sweet tooth is strong enough, you can even head to U.S. chain Crumbl's location in The Well for an exceptionally decadent experience.

Even so, the city's hunger for new cookie spots seems insatiable, and a new venture specializing in cookies is gearing up to throw its hat in the ring this winter.

Opening its doors soon at Yonge and St. Clair, Cookeys (whose logo depicts a skeleton key whose bow is a cookie, how clever) will be just the latest in a long line of cookie-centric businesses to appeal to Toronto consumers.

"Cookeys is a premium cookie and coffee concept focused on handcrafted, generously sized cookies made with high-quality ingredients, paired with carefully selected specialty coffee," Anastasiia, a member of the Cookeys team, tells blogTO.

"Our goal is to create a warm, welcoming space where cookies are not just a treat, but an experience — something comforting, joyful, and made with real care."

Expect hefty, chewy cookies, a full suite of coffee-based beverages and a warm, welcoming interior from the business, and rest assured knowing you won't have to wait too long to try it out for yourself.

"We're currently preparing for our first location in Toronto and are hoping to open around mid-February," Anastasiia tells blogTO.

"This will be our first business in Canada, and we're excited to become part of the local food scene and community."

Cookeys will be located at 1430 Yonge St.
