A charming cafe and wine bar that originated in a GTA town just grew its footprint, opening a new location in Toronto.
If you don't frequent the Halton Hills region, Lyla's House in Georgetown may have flown under your radar. If you do live or spend considerable time in the area, on the other hand, there's no way you've missed it.
A Main Street fixture since 2023, Lyla's founder, Alex Ratcliff, describes the cafe-by-day, wine bar-by-night concept as much more than just a cafe. "It's a living, breathing space that evolves with intention," the Lyla's House website reads.
"Every detail, from our coffee selection to the art on our walls, is carefully chosen to create something authentic. Think of it as my personal quest for the perfect hang-out spot, turned into your new favourite place," Alex writes on Lyla's House's website.
As third places — areas outside of home and work where people can gather and a community can be built — grow increasingly important in and around Toronto, Lyla's House offers the Georgetown community exactly that.
Whether you're working or conversing, the cozy cafe is a place that's welcoming to all, serving up a full suite of coffee-based beverages, cocktails and sandwiches.
Now, Toronto residents are finally able to experience first-hand what Lyla's House is all about.
Officially opening its doors in the first week of December, Lyla's Toronto has officially landed in Bloor West Village, just a block away from the intersection of Bloor and Runnymede.
In the case of the Bloor location, Lyla's House has the added benefit of a kitchen, which allows for a more comprehensive evening service, including a selection of organic wines and dinner plates.
If you've been on the hunt for your newest local go-to, you may have just found it, whether you're after coffee, wine, or anything at all as long as it's served by someone friendly.
Lyla's House Toronto is located at 2196 Bloor St. W.
