Starbucks is changing its menu options in Canada

Starbucks will soon have fewer food and beverage items on its menu in the U.S., and in Canada, the coffee giant is trying to keep things simple.

CEO Brian Niccol announced changes to Starbucks U.S. operations during an earnings call on January 28, stating that the company has been focused on "simplifying" its menu.

"In the coming months, you'll see us begin to optimize our menu offerings, resulting in a roughly 30 per cent reduction in both beverages and food," he said, adding that the changes will be made by the end of fiscal year 2025.

A Starbucks representative confirmed that the 30 per cent reduction only applies to the U.S. So, what can Canadians expect?

They said in Canada, Starbucks is only focused on "simplifying" its menu, and details about what that entails will be shared later.

This is so Starbucks can position partners (workers) for success, improve consistency, drive customer satisfaction and enhance its economics.

Canadians can expect "fewer, better beverage and food offerings" in the future.

By streamlining the beverage and food offered at Starbucks, it aims to focus more on ensuring availability, quality, and improved efficiency.

Editor's note: An earlier version of this article stated that Starbucks was reducing its menu by 30 per cent in Canada. The change will only happen in the U.S.
