Babur closes after two decade run on Queen Street

The number of Indian restaurants on Queen Street West is dwindling. Nearly one month ago, we reported that Trimurti closed down. And while walking by Babur yesterday, I noticed a note posted in its storefront window.

Dated October 4, it reads: "To our valued guests, thanks for supporting Babur Restaurant for the last 33 years. Due to the retirement, our amazing chef Rajendra Wadhawan will be closing the restaurant."

Babur has been in its current home for two decades. In 2010, it modernized its appearance thanks to a renovation led by Commute Design (or Commute Home).
