Fan Expo cosplayers explain which superhero Toronto needs the most

Legendary comic book character Superman drew plenty of inspiration from Toronto, but despite Metropolis' roots in the 6ix, the city still lacks a major superhero franchise to call its own.

Fan Expo recently wrapped for another year at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, where blogTO caught up with cosplayers to ask which superhero they think should protect Toronto.

Suggestions included Drake in an Iron Man costume, a Toronto version of Spider-Man, Daredevil, and the Nintendo character Kirby, who one attendee said "kills gods," which might sound more supervillain than hero to some.

One person even suggested Toronto deserves its version of Batman, referencing the city's "Gotham" reputation in recent years (though I would argue Batman is not a superhero, as his only actual power is being a rich dude).

The suggestion that resonated with me the most, however, was Snorlax, the obese, chronically tired and unbothered Pokémon that Toronto might deserve the most.
