Here's what people think first-timers must experience at the CNE in Toronto

The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) is a time-honoured tradition for Toronto locals, but in a city constantly welcoming newcomers, some attendees might need a bit of guidance on how to spend the perfect day at The Ex.

blogTO asked CNE visitors during 2026's opening weekend how they would curate a day at the beloved summer fair for someone who has never experienced The Ex.

A few people suggested first-timers should experience the CNE on opening day to avoid the crush crowds typical of the festival's final days in September.

Midway games and weird food items came highly recommended, most notably the Sky Ride at sunset, which one attendee described as "special."

One CNE-goer had a more unconventional suggestion, saying first-timers should tackle the drop tower attraction right off the bat to conquer their fears.
