These are the worst roads in Ontario for 2026

Ontario's worst roads have been revealed for 2026, and Toronto is well-represented on the list of public thoroughfares in brutal condition, accounting for four of the top ten spots.

The CAA released its annual list of the province's worst roads on Thursday, which has been shining a light on the harsh conditions motorists face during their daily commutes around the province since first released in 2003.

Barton Street East in Hamilton was voted the worst road in the province by the public, reclaiming the shameful title it held in 2022 and 2023. In fact, Hamilton has claimed the burden of Ontario's worst road for four straight years, with Aberdeen Avenue taking the title in 2024 and 2025.

Here is the CAA's full list of Ontario's Top 10 Worst Roads:

  1. Barton Street East, Hamilton
  2. Hurontario Street, Mississauga
  3. Notre Dame Avenue, Sudbury
  4. Sider Road, Fort Erie
  5. Steeles Avenue East, Toronto
  6. Sheppard Avenue West, Toronto
