go transit closures this weekend

Huge stretch of GO Train service will shut down for this entire weekend

GO Transit closures this weekend will include the shutdown of a major stretch of the Kitchener Line.

Metrolinx has announced a full-weekend closure on a stretch of the Kitchener Line between Bramalea GO and Union Station on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29.

The outage — attributed to ongoing construction work — will span six stations along the busiest portion of the line through Toronto and into the southern 905.

Metrolinx plans to run shuttle buses direct from Bramalea GO to the Highway 407 Bus Terminal, where commuters can connect with the TTC's Line 1 to connect to Union Station and other local transit routes to reach stops not served along the way.

During the closure, there will be no GO Transit service at Bloor, Mount Dennis, Weston and Etobicoke North GO, while only GO Train service will be halted at Malton GO.

Northwest of the closed portion of the line, trains will run hourly between Bramalea and Mount Pleasant GO.
