daylight saving time ontario

We asked people on the street if Ontario should finally ditch daylight saving time

With clocks set to spring forward this Sunday, March 8, the topic of daylight saving time is once again sparking debate over whether Ontario should continue with the controversial biannual clock tinkering practice.

Just days ahead of the clocks switching, British Columbia announced that it would adopt year-round daylight saving time, and while Ontario has expressed a desire to do the same, Premier Doug Ford has made it clear that any legislative changes to the practice would have to follow New York State adopting similar changes to keep the two economies in step.

But it's a topic that has locals talking, and blogTO hit Toronto streets to gauge public opinion on daylight saving time.

Love it or hate it, the clocks will spring forward one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning, robbing us all of an hour of sleep, but bringing later sunsets as winter draws to a close.
