There are a handful of topics Toronto residents will never, ever pipe down: rent, the TTC, pizza, and the weather.
So far this winter season, the city faced a stretch of bad weather caused by freezing temperatures and a couple of major snowstorms (including a record-breaking storm on Jan. 25). But, surprisingly, a lot of people are taking it all in stride.
blogTO hit the downtown streets of Toronto to gather public reactions to the winter weather.

Sure, some individuals had gripes about how the harsh winter weather often cancelled their weekend plans and even, somewhat hyperbolically, interfered with their outfits.
"I don't like it, I wish it was sunny and not snowing," one person remarked, while another told us her initial plan to go to a party was cancelled when the storm hit.
Speaking with another Toronto resident, we learned how a snowstorm earlier in January left them stranded for hours on their way home.
"I had to wait almost two hours to get back home because [Line 1 Yonge–University] was closed from Finch all the way to Bloor," they said. And they weren't the only commuters frustrated with the TTC's handling of snow events this month, as another woman was forced to walk eight kilometres on foot due to service delays amid the record-breaking snowstorm on Jan. 25.
Despite some complaints, not everyone was dwelling on the weather's downsides.
"I'm Canadian, and I just dress for the weather. I enjoy it the best I can," they told blogTO. "If it's too cold, just stay in. If it's nice like this, you go out and enjoy it." Others echoed a similar sentiment, as one couple stated, "We're Canadian! We just keep on keeping on."
Another individual we met on the street explained that the cold is just part of life in Toronto.
"This year is pretty cold," they said. "But you have to go outside and enjoy it, otherwise you won't do anything during the winter in Toronto."
