Canada's Top 100 Employers for 2025 include a staggering 43 Ontario-based businesses, a reminder of why the province is considered the country's economic heart.
Now in its 26th year, the annual top 100 produced by Mediacorp Canada highlights the best and brightest businesses from across the country, but it was Ontario that once again stood out from the pack.
This year's edition, released on Nov. 18, comes amid unprecedented economic challenges and highlights employers which are forging new paths forward through tumultuous tariffs imposed by the United States.
Companies are evaluated based on criteria including workplace, atmosphere and social, health, financial, and family benefits, vacation and time off, employee communications, performance management, training and skills development, and community involvement.
"Employers in Canada are at a remarkable juncture, facing once-in-a-generation challenges in artificial intelligence, trade and demographics," says Richard Yerema, executive editor of the Canada's Top 100 Employers project.
"While the potential downsides are widely reported, experienced leaders recognize that periods of disruption are often catalysts for long-term advantage. Over the past 25 years, many of today's strongest organizations are those that adapted quickly during inflection points like the pandemic or the 2008 financial crisis – emerging more resilient and focused."
This year's list featured 43 Ontario-based businesses ranking among the top 100 employers, accounting for close to half of this year's list. Here are all the Ontario companies featured in this year's Canada's Top 100 Employers.
