ttc subway closure this weekend

A two-kilometre stretch of TTC subway will be shut down for part of this weekend

Yet another planned subway closure could put a damper on your weekend plans in Toronto.

The TTC has announced that it will shut down service on a portion of the Line 2–Bloor Danforth subway for the entire day on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

The transit agency warns commuters that the approximately two-kilometre stretch spanning Jane, Runnymede, High Park and Keele stations will close for track work on Saturday and be replaced by shuttle bus service ferrying passengers through the gap in subway coverage.

Runnymede and High Park stations will both be off-limits to commuters during the closure, while Jane and Keele will be open for passengers to purchase and reload fare cards, and connect to surface routes.

Saturday's closure will mark just the latest in a string of outages that the TTC attributes to ongoing track work on aging portions of the rapid transit network.

At the start of the year, the commission revealed that it had planned 38 weekend closures throughout 2025 due to the growing repair backlog — and that doesn't even factor in the dozens more nightly early closures and single-day outages complicating life for Toronto public transit users.
