toronto weather next week

Toronto will feel hotter than 40 C this weekend and into next week

Get ready for some scorching weather in Toronto to kick off the first weekend of summer proper.

Toronto is buckling up for some sizzling heat on Wednesday, but it will just be a taste of things to come ahead of an extreme heat event set to smother the city starting this weekend.

Temperatures will soar on Sunday, June 22, making it feel hotter than 40 C .

According to The Weather Network's seven-day forecast, thunderstorms may offer some relief from the suffocating temps by the afternoon, but the mercury will still climb to 33 C during these hours, and feel like an unbearable 43 C when factoring in humidex.

The stormy conditions are expected to subside by the evening, making way for sunny skies and temperatures of 28 C that feel more like 38 C before the weekend wraps up.

But you can expect more of the same discomfort on Monday, when thermometers are expected to climb to 39 C by the mid-afternoon, with temperatures once again feeling more like 43 C.

On Tuesday, conditions are expected to peak at 33 C and feel more like 41 C, marking three consecutive days with temperatures that are predicted to feel hotter than 40 degrees.

Thankfully, locals can expect some reprieve by next Wednesday, when highs should max out at 26 C and feel like a still quite warm 32 C.

So, pop some water bottles in the freezer and make sure that your air conditioning is good to go, because the coming week could get very uncomfortable.
