CNE hiring for dozens of summer jobs in Toronto and here are some open roles

If you've already begun your search for a summer job, make sure to brush up your application, because Toronto's great annual summer tradition, the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), is currently hiring for a ton of seasonal roles

On Thursday, Canada's largest community event (affectionately known as "The Ex"), announced that it is on the hunt for hard-working candidates to join its team for the duration of the fair this summer, which takes place between Aug. 15 and Sept. 1.

The cherished tradition attracts over 1.5 million visitors every year over its 18-day run, and if you want to be behind all the action, there's a range of opportunities to apply for.

Applications are now open for a variety of roles, including program facilitators, farm superintendents, info booth attendants, call centre representatives, mascot handlers, gate attendants, admission ticket sellers, info booth attendants, and lost-and-found attendants.

For the majority of the roles, you must be at least 16 to 18 years old and available to work all 18 days of the fair. You'll also be required to attend mandatory HR and job-specific orientations in early August, and you must be available to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends.

Last year, the CNE revealed that over 37,000 candidates registered for its annual job fair, which typically takes place in late July or early August. The registrations marked the most submissions in CNE's history, although the fair noted that they expected attendance for the in-person job fair to be between 3,500 to 5,000.

Over 80 per cent of CNE staff hired every year are between the ages of 14 and 29. If you don't see any positions that spark your interest this time around, you can always hold off until the massive job fair later in the summer, where the fair typically sends calls out for short-order cooks, dishwashers, retail associates, game attendants, and cashiers.

With thousands of submissions expected, make sure to submit your resume online sooner rather than later.
