It's going to feel like -25 C in Toronto this weekend

After weeks of bone-chilling weather, Toronto is in for another freezing weekend, so make sure to pack on some extra layers and bundle up. While temperatures will feel bitterly cold, the good news is there is some relief on the horizon.

While the actual temperature will be -15 C on Saturday, the wind chill will make it feel like -25 C, so if you're planning on venturing outside, don't forget to pack on a warm hat and some extra thick gloves.

Luckily, the deep freeze won't be around for too long, as temperatures will begin to climb in the afternoon to -11 C. On Sunday, warmer temperatures will arrive in exchange for some scattered flurries.

According to The Weather Network's forecast, Sunday afternoon will feel like -5 C, and by Monday, temperatures will be in a much more comfortable range between -6 C and 2 C.

However, a combination of a climate pattern called La Niña as well as a polar vortex will be delaying the arrival of spring in southern Ontario, as reported by the weather agency. February is expected to bring a major shift in the jet stream pattern across North America, which isn't exactly the best thing if you're hoping for an early spring.

Still, a much warmer pattern is expected to dominate across the eastern U.S., and at times, warmer temperatures may seep across the border into southern Ontario.

After some relief, more Arctic air is expected to spread from western Canada into eastern Canada during late February and into the first few weeks of March, according to The Weather Network

Although the end of winter is still weeks away, southern Ontario can look forward to frequent bursts of mild weather to help break up the chill.
