metro convention centre

End could be near for Metro Toronto Convention Centre

Toronto's Metro Toronto Convention Centre may feel like a massive labyrinth, but Mayor John Tory doesn't think it's big enough anymore, reports the Toronto Star.

In a conversation with Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne yesterday, Tory broached the subject of creating a new and improved convention centre. Neither he nor Wynne mentioned a possible location for this piece of infrastructure.

Tory did mention, however, that the city's lost out on major conventions over the years. He wants to work with the provincial government to get this project off the ground, ensuring Toronto has enough space for these types of events in the future.

Do you think Toronto should build a new convention centre? Let us know in the comments.
