Museum makes list of world's prettiest subway stations

Museum Station has once again made a list of the best subway stations in the world. The latest international kudos for the TTC's most adorned platform comes from the Guardian, which has just compiled a list of the 12 most beautiful metro stations in the world. It's always intriguing to see how much love Museum gets from the global press given the ambivalence that greets it at home. More than a few people mourn the days when it was a spotless, tiled station that acted as something of a time warp to the early 1960s.

I used to count myself among that group, but over the years I've come to appreciate Museum's quirky ornamentation and learned to ignore the fact that everything looks a little on the cheap side. Beyond the endorsement for Museum, one reason to have a look at the list is the sheer beauty of the other stations around the world that made the cut. From the Fulton Centre transit hub in New York to the rocky wonders of Stockholm's Metro to the embellishments of the St. Petersburg subway system, we're certainly in good company.
