TCHC On Mock Trial

On Thursday, Toronto Community Housing and the Ontario Justice Education Program set up a mock-trial with tenants from its Flemingdon Park and Sheppard-Magellan properties -- notorious for set in rougher parts of town.

Over 30 youths participated as lawyers, court sttaff, witnesesses and accused in a scenario about a teen involved in firearm charges and the trial was presided over by a real Ontario Court of Justice judge.

It's kind of cool to see TCHC get their kids involved with this kind of activity -- kind of balances out other stories, such as this one from the Globe last week.
