Toronto cleans up on Billboard's artist of the year lists

It's been a great year for Toronto-area musicians on the pop charts. Week after week, homegrown talent held down the top spots on Billboard's Hot 100, whether it be Drake, Justin Bieber, or the Weeknd.

Billboard has now released its year-end charts, and Drake is officially the Hot 100 Artist of the Year. Meanwhile, Adele ruled the roost on the Top Artists of the Year list, but Toronto-area musicians clinched four out of the top 10 spots.

After Adele, Justin Bieber ranked number two, followed by Drake. The Weeknd placed eighth and Shawn Mendes rounded out the top 10.

Alessia Cara, unsurprisingly, is also on the list at number 38 and Tory Lanez is number 60 thanks to the massive success of his debut album I Told You.

Drake's Views went quadruple platinum this month and he was nominated for eight Grammys, including album of the year.
