toronto dinesafe public healthThis week on DineSafe, it looks like city inspectors paid a little visit to the food court in Gerrard Square. Fortunately for those who frequent the spot, only two stalls were marked with conditional passes, though I'm sure Tropical Joe's and El Greeko wouldn't call the situation "fortunate." Also on the DineSafe low list this week is perpetual offender Farm Fresh Market, which seems to have snuck in one additional conditional pass before the end of January. Well done. Ok, seriously...

Why do so many Asian restaurants appear weekly on this list?

The language barrier prevents the asian restaurant owners from being able to offer comped meals and other bribes to the inspectors

Hot Wings kinda scares me. Their main business is chicken. Chicken is one of the worst salmonella breeders... with 4 major and 4 significant infractions, that's not a good sign! I wish they would tell us what they were!

Congratulations to all the winners. I've never even heard of these places, so I'm safe this week.

If PHI is caught accepting a bribe, it's automatically 1 year in jail and a maximum 1 million fine. I don't think any bribe would ever be offered when these establishments can barely get the basics right by having thermometers and cleaning properly. My price is $4million. If you have that kind of money to buy me into looking the other way, just do what I asked in the 1st place and clean up your establisment.

A lot of the Asian restaurants on the list are located in older neighbourhoods with very old buildings. The Asian establishments in Markham and Agincourt seem to be generally more hygienic in general.

These inspectors need to pay a visit to every eatery on bathurst. The type of filth that resides there which goes unchecked proves that asians are being unfairly targeted.
