Kom Jug Yuen
Kom Jug Yuen is an unassuming spot and regular hangout for white-haired grannies and grandpas seeking out senior's deals after their daily stroll around the 'hood. It's definitely an old school restaurant but it has its charms and still manages to pull in the crowds for a cheap and filling lunch.

The one thing I am not too happy is, at one time, a piece of BBQ fell on the floor, and the guy tried to put it back in my styrofoam container. I stop him dead on the spot and told him that I ain't going to be happy. He thought that I didn't see him.
You can't beat BBQ pork on rice for $4.
And eat-in. You'll get more than you'd get for take out, as they'll give you a really good soup and the requisite orange slices afterwards.
Not to mention black tea and sometimes some greens with the pork and rice.
Do I doubt Amy's account of a roach? Naw, I'm sure it happens.
But really? I don't know many downtown restaurants that can claim to be 100% roach-free. :/
The best bbq pork is right, i've had it all over the world. Ping the owner is a nice guy, hope he doesn't retire soon because it doesn't look like his son is taking over unfortunately.
