Kom Jug YuenKom Jug Yuen is an unassuming spot and regular hangout for white-haired grannies and grandpas seeking out senior's deals after their daily stroll around the 'hood. It's definitely an old school restaurant but it has its charms and still manages to pull in the crowds for a cheap and filling lunch.

Best BBQ-pork in the City!! Actually even better than HK and China (from what I've had). Trust me, I've had my fair share of BBQ-pork, this place is the best. YUM!

I regularly eat at kom jug yuen. I ordered BBQ pork mostly.

The one thing I am not too happy is, at one time, a piece of BBQ fell on the floor, and the guy tried to put it back in my styrofoam container. I stop him dead on the spot and told him that I ain't going to be happy. He thought that I didn't see him.

The BBQ pork is so fantastic here that I would eat it off the floor (okay, not quite).

You can't beat BBQ pork on rice for $4.
And eat-in. You'll get more than you'd get for take out, as they'll give you a really good soup and the requisite orange slices afterwards.
Not to mention black tea and sometimes some greens with the pork and rice.

Do I doubt Amy's account of a roach? Naw, I'm sure it happens.
But really? I don't know many downtown restaurants that can claim to be 100% roach-free. :/

i use to love this place for late night eats after the bar BUT more than recently my brother and i ate there and he got some serious food poisoning..... i felt brave enough to try again a week later (last night) not only did they shaft me on all the bad pork chunks that looked like off cuts, they gave me my change via a completely torn in half 5 dollar bill .,.,, and quickly turned away before i could complain .... so here it is ..... i guess dont go here if you are a white man.... youl be served scraps and given back torn up currency .... the kom jug era has ended for me peace out

This place is an oldschool dive, but the staff are friendly and I've never gotten sick from the food. Great when you are drunk and poor. Still great when you are sober and poor. $5 gets you a heaping amount of BBQ Pork and white rice. If you are willing to cough up $20 and it's a reasonable time of day for eating then there are many better places.

I've been going to Kom Jug Yuen for over 20 years and while not aesthetically pleasing it is unpretentious, has honest good food at great prices. For people who complain about the restroom or the decor, this is Chinatown not Thornhill.

The best bbq pork is right, i've had it all over the world. Ping the owner is a nice guy, hope he doesn't retire soon because it doesn't look like his son is taking over unfortunately.
