Little Nicky's set to reopen after TTC bus crash
Peter Street coffee shop Little Nicky's is closed for repairs today after a TTC bus collided heavily with the side of the building on Sunday, sending three people to hospital with minor injuries. While police investigate the specifics of the accident, which also involved a taxi and another vehicle, the coffee and donuts are on hold.
"You can't even walk through the front door," says Frank from the cafe, "the bus put a hole right though the building by the front door so they have to change the glass door. The construction guys are there now trying to repair that as fast as possible."
The decision to close for the day came down from Allied Properties, the owners of the building, and the City of Toronto. While the historic brick-and-beam office and retail space — also home to a Gap and Red Bull Canada — isn't structurally damaged, there are enough bricks, cinderblocks and pieces of glass lying around to make it unsafe for the public.
Luckily, the coffee shop — the business closest to the impact — was closed at the time of the accident but there was a close call for a Red Bull staff member who narrowly avoided the bus as it hopped the sidewalk.
"Everything should be fixed by the afternoon," assures Frank, "we'll be open tomorrow."

Kind of misleading if you guys are editing photos without notifying readers. And where is the credit for the photo? Did the writer take the pic too?
"I, for one, am offended, sir! Why, I endeavoured to stroll by the coffee purveyor in question after reading your editorial. Imagine my shock, and subsequent disgust, when I looked upon yon plywood and espied nary one word of tomfoolery! 'Shenanigans,' I cried! The media industry should feel great shame at such an act of deception!"
Can't wait to see the comment on the victims picture on the next pedophile story covered by the site.
Ah Ron... right to next logically step. (No Hitler mention?)
