The photos of the week: March 10-16
The photos of the week collect each of the editor-selected photos of the day into one post for a contest to be decided by our readers. Sponsored by Posterjack, the photographer whose image receives the most votes will be awarded with a voucher code for a 24"x36" poster print of their work.
All the rules and fine-print can be found in the original announcement post on the blogTO Flickr page. One thing to add, however, is that the voting period ends at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, after which the winner will be contacted with the good news.

I thought this was a neat shot because it shows the set-up of the rig that is required to take timelapse videos. The person in the photo is the one who brought us "Toronto Tempo" (see http://vimeo.com/30788720), which we can probably all agree is stunning.

I had been hiking around the bay that afternoon taking long exposure photos of the windswept bay when I saw the sun starting to light up the clouds from underneath. I ran back along the trail to the main pond to frame the city between the gap and got there just in time to catch the last bit of sun before it dipped past the horizon.
Apologies to the lady walking the dog that I startled as I flew past trying to get to the vantage point I wanted.
