Rooftop photographs of Toronto
Rooftop photographs of Toronto account for a number of my favourite images of the city. Some will recall that we used to run a pretty regular column featuring this type of photography from Jonathan Castellino, but given that our in-house expert has taken a bit of a sabbatical, I thought I'd fill the gap with some of the breathtaking work in the blogTO Flickr pool.
A simple search of the tag "rooftopping" revealed about a 150 photographs taken by a small group of urban explorers - including Jonathan - who are all highly skilled at their craft, which, I should note, is not just about shooting, but also gaining access to the vantage points from which to present Toronto in such an unfamiliar and intriguing light.
Here's a collection of some of the best. A few have appeared on the site before as photos of the day, the image that accompanies the Morning Brew or the Radar, but there's something about seeing them all together that, pardon the pun, elevates the viewing experience.
From Jen Tse, also a blogTO contributor.
From tomms, who has an outstanding collection of these shots.
From ronnie.yip, also awesome.
And, of course, Jonathan Castellino (lots more great stuff if you follow the link).
Thanks to the photographers for their great work! And check out the slideshow below for more of their shots.
