[ - performance artist Istvan Kantor speaks about Toronto politics, the condo boom, and art - runs 6mins - ]

Gallery TPW is hosting a series of very intriguing interviews with Toronto artists. Featured so far: performance artist Istvan Kantor, "machine gun sex and death" video producer Jubal Brown, and MoCCA Curator David Liss.

Check out all of the videos (some rather edgy) hosted by Gallery TPW.

Love this art-speak nonsense in front of his Chrysler Mini-van, while trying to look cool in his leather jacket. Wanker. Isn't this guy's claim to fame that he threw his blood on the wall at the AGO? Get a job.

It's terrible that Condo's are enabling people to own their space rather than be victim to any slumlord who wants to rent some property and raise the price every year without doing repairs or maintenance. Oh, how I miss the cockroaches, the half-assed paint jobs and bad water-pressure. Oh, and don't forget lugging your crap to the laundromat. Maybe Condos are cheaply built, but a drafty warehouse space with clanging radiators isn't any better.

Here's a photo of him <a href="http://www.ccca.ca/performance_artists/k/kantor/kantor_perf18/index.html";>getting escorted out of the National Gallery of Canada</a> in 1991 :)

He's done a lot of what many consider over the top stuff, and he's also won some prestigious awards.
