The Black Lodge Cocktail Bar

The Black Lodge Cocktail Bar is a hidden space inside Storm Crow Manor themed around Twin Peaks and The Shining.

Open Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to late, it's available for rent for the most badass nerd parties ever. When it's not rented out, the bar is open to the public to discover for themselves.

Head up the creaky staircase in this Victorian mansion to get to a foreboding black curtain emblazoned with famous phrases from Twin Peaks and The Shining: "fire walk with me" and "redrum."

Pass through this curtain and you'll feel like you've tumbled into the nominal Black Lodge from Twin Peaks, a sort of alternate reality dream state.

The space is made up to look just like it does in the show with zig-zagging black and white floors, heavy red curtains and even a statue.

The Shining element comes in with a glowing bar that looks just like the one Jack Nicholson cozies up to in the movie. A bartender exclusively attending this area can even dress up like Lloyd (the bartender from the film) upon request for parties.

Following a horrifying aesthetic, two specialty cocktails available in this space are bloody red like the curtains. You can also order from the full Storm Crow drinks menu.

The Red Rum ($14) is a potent and slightly bitter combination of raspberry and lemon infused rum, lemon juice, raspberry syrup and tonic water, though no matter how it tastes it's visually impressive, served bubbling with dry ice wafting from it.

A Fire Walk Margarita ($17) is far pricier but much more palatable, tequila, lime, simple syrup and triple sec pairing up with tried and true marg flavours of muddled strawberry and jalapeno for a sweet and spicy kick.

A Butterbeer ($9) may be worth ordering for hardcore Harry Potter fans, or those with an intense sweet tooth, as it's more sugar than booze. Butterscotch ripple, "liquid" ice cream (so, melted?) and root beer come together for a beverage that's, again, visually pleasing but might make molars ache.

A customizable cocktail and catering menu can be put together for passed apps for private parties, or else party guests or random walk-ins can order from the regular Storm Crow menu.

The Dungeon Burger ($17) is a signature item, which lets a 20-sided die (a la Dungeons and Dragons) decide the components of the burger. That means you might end up with a fried-pickle-topped monstrosity that's impossible to get your mouth around.

An on-site event planner and AV services including an 82-inch TV with HDMI, games and Chromecast are also all at your disposal to make your trippiest, geekiest dreams come true for an event in this secretive space.
