Festival of Beer

Dollar Beers this Weekend at the Beer Fest

If Wakestock didn't bring enough incoherent, drunken frat boys (*cough*) out into the street, get ready for a quick one-two punch to the city as the 12th annual Toronto Festival of Beer kicks off this weekend.

This year, the festival is promising to be bigger than ever with several "satellite" events also planned around the GTA, and featuring over 200 brands of beer accompanied by some delicious BBQ action and live music.

Of course, it's a 19 and over event, so you'd be best to leave the tykes at home for this one. I'd like to give our highly intelligent and considerate readers (did I mention beautiful? Yes, you're beautiful too) the benefit of the doubt when it comes to this kind of thing, but it's probably worth a mention anyway -- for all our sake, if you're going to the event, find a DD, or use the TTC or a cab.

As if I need to even remind the 8,500 and counting Facebookers planning to attend, this year, the festival will run from Thursday - Friday 4pm-11pm and Saturday - Sunday from 1pm to 7pm, all going down at Fort York.

Tickets range from $21 for Friday/Sunday to $26 for Saturday and are available on (the atrociously designed) TicketBreak and select Beer Store locations. The Saturday venue is already completely sold out though, so if you want to get your drink on this weekend, you'd better move quickly.
