i'm sorry but for someone who works in the food industry, this list is horrible (I even work at a spot thats nominated and thats not enough to make up for it)

We had a call for nominations back in December. We then took those plus nominations by blogTO contributors and came up with the final list. Which specific nominees do you have issues with?

haha, pizza is a big one(no bintondo's?), korean (yummy bbq is the best value for a meal in the city), burgers (the hero burger in hazlton lanes), no gazelle for falafels, no alex's cheese, and the pub list I could prob add another half dozen.

I know that these are just my personal opinions, but I gotta believe that besides maybe the hero burger one that all of those are extremely well known toronto spots

Perhaps they're extremely well-known because they're well-liked and good? This vote doesn't aim to determine the "most obscure but good." It is a reader survey, and if the list is missing your faves it's probably because not enough people nominated them. Maybe next year?

Hey Kit,

Here Burgers isn't on the list b/c it's a chain and this is the Best of *independent* Toronto. For falafels, I think it's important to realize that there are plenty of good spots not in the Annex. Bitondo's made our list two years ago and nobody voted for it. Alex's isn't as good as the other cheese places on the list (IMO) and is also regarded by many as way overpriced. As far as Yummy BBQ, which Korean place on the list is it better than? Not any of them IMO.
