Toronto Star Launches Election Site

Posted by Zach / September 2, 2006

The Toronto Star has just announced their new election coverage web page. It already has a fair amount of content and some interactive features as well, including a Google Maps app that helps you find out who your local city councillor is.

"The goal? A website that offers one-stop shopping for all your GTA election needs as the issues unfold in the weeks and months leading up to the Nov. 13 vote -- including an in-depth database of all wards and candidates across the 25 municipalities of the GTA."

People are no longer satisfied with simply reading the news so it's nice to see traditional newspapers becoming (a bit) more interactive.

Awesome. I'm hoping that the content builds as the weeks go on, but it's great to see a newspaper really use the web to try (at least) to reach out to a wider audience.
