toronto heat wave

It's going to feel like 40 Celsius this weekend in Toronto

The first weekend of summer in Toronto is going to be a bright and sunny scorcher. If you're the type who puts stock in the humidex, you can look forward to temperatures in the neighbourhood of 40 degrees Celsius. Even if you don't, it's still going to top 30 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday.

In other words, it's the perfect time to pay a visit to Toronto's recently opened outdoor swimming pools, head to the beach, or just to take a walk along the waterfront, where temperatures will be just a bit more comfortable thanks to the cooling effect of the lake.

In fact, there's all manner of things to do this summer when the mercury rises, from movies in the park to new drinks on new lakeside patios to the city's ever-improving ice cream options. Stay cool, Toronto. And remember to enjoy the heat while you can. We'll be complaining that it's too cold soon enough.
