Elora Gorge

Elora gorge conservation area in Ontario is a camping and tubing paradise

Elora gorge is a breathtaking destination for an active spring getaway, boasting incredible hiking trails with stunning panoramic views.

Elora Gorge Conservation Area re-opens for the season on May 1, featuring the rushing Grand River, 22-metre high cliffs, riverside trails, and scenic overlooks of the rapids below.

Located on the western side of the city, this conservation area covers over 350 acres of natural land.

Visitors can go hiking, cycling, birding, fishing, paddling, and swimming during the summer months. A campground is also available if you want to stay the weekend.

One of the gorge's most popular activities is tubing down the Grand River, which opens in mid-June. Whether you prefer to leisurely float down the lazy river or fly down the fast rapids, you'll be able to experience the area's beautiful natural surroundings, trees and towering cliffs.

The Elora Quarry is another summertime hotspot opening later in the season, drawing locals and visitors alike who come to take a dip in the large swimming hole.

Elora Conservation Area also hosts multiple events throughout the season you can find on their events calendar

The area does charge admission fees for day use. Adult admission costs $7.08, while children under 13 are $3.10. Elora Conservation Area also will restrict capacity, so it's best to check in advance on their website before making the trip.
