The Toronto Raptors are coming off one of their best seasons in years, and as the NBA offseason nears, one of the league's biggest stars has just given Raptors fans something to talk about.
Milwaukee Bucks power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo was in Budapest on Saturday for the UEFA Champions League Final and shared a post that referenced the Toronto Raptors.
Antetokounmpo took part in a celebrity soccer match and posed for a photo with Toronto-based gaming creator ChuBoi.
The interaction between the two wouldn't have generated much attention. However, ChuBoi's Instagram picture had "I told him to join the Raptors" on it.

What caught Raptors fans' attention was that Antetokounmpo later reposted the photo to his own Instagram page among a few other posts from the celebrity event.
While it could just be Antetokounmpo sharing everything he was tagged in from the game, the timing couldn't have been better, given the uncertainty around his future with the Milwaukee Bucks.
The 31-year-old is currently under contract with Milwaukee through the 2026-27 season and holds a player option for 2027-28. Though the Bucks want to move him sooner.
Two weeks ago, NBA insider Shams Charania said Milwaukee is "open for business" on trade calls for the two-time MVP.
Since that report surfaced, Antetokounmpo's name has been linked to numerous teams around the league, including the Raptors.
The Milwaukee Bucks are open for business on trade calls and offers for two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo entering the NBA combine, and over six weeks away from the draft, sources told ESPN.

That being said, acquiring the Greek star would come at an enormous cost.
If Toronto were to make a deal, the team would likely have to part ways with young star Collin Murray Boyles, their 19th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, plus additional future draft picks and a veteran star such as RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, or Brandon Ingram to make Antetokounmpo's $58-million contract work.
There's also another path. If Antetokounmpo declines his player option and reaches free agency following the 2027-28 season, the Raptors could still chase him on the open market while preserving their young core.
A fan can dream, and the Danforth is waiting.
