An Ontario-made iGaming provider is helping players stay in control and have fun

Gaming can be a lot of fun when it's done responsibly. And as Ontario's gambling industry continues to grow, it's more important than ever to be armed with the tools necessary to keep things safe and enjoyable.

March is Responsible Gaming Month, and Ontario iGaming site Betty wants to help spread the message through tools, habits, and resources. Here's how.

Responsible gaming tools

Responsible gaming is built around helping players stay in control and make informed decisions about how they play, and that's exactly what Betty aims to do. The online platform has built-in tools to support healthy habits, like deposit limits, loss limits, and playtime limits.

Problem gambling is as hard on the mind as it is on the wallet, which is why time limits can be as important as money limits. On Betty, players are encouraged to take temporary timeouts or self-exclude whenever they feel like they need a longer break. Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is simply step away.

Resources and education

Responsible gaming goes beyond self-inflicted limits – it also requires players to have access to external support and education.

Betty connects players to organizations like ConnexOntario, which provides free and confidential 24/7 services of support, education, and strategies surrounding gambling, mental health, and addiction, and Responsible Gambling Council, a leader in preventing problem gambling in Canada for over 35 years.

Take a Break on Betty

Need a break from your regular day-to-day? Betty is taking these important conversations into the real world through its new activation, Take a Break on Betty, which encourages folks in Toronto to take the time to learn about responsible gaming.

responsible gamingThroughout March, a branded coffee truck popped up at busy downtown locations – RBC Plaza and Sankofa Square. Anyone 19+ could swing by, enjoy a complimentary coffee, and learn more about responsible gaming resources while hitting pause on the hustle and bustle of the workday.
