Behind the studio
Founder Jamie Randolph was working a retail position in 2003 when his boss, who owned a piercing studio, introduced him to the world of body piercing.
After years of apprenticing and developing his skills, he had the opportunity to purchase his first studio, launching what would become Steel n Ink. Even then, he never stopped learning, attending multiple Association of Professional Piercers conferences and participating in numerous advanced technique seminars.
At the time, tattoos and piercings weren’t as widely embraced as they are today, and Jamie saw room to raise the standard for professionalism, safety, and client experience within the industry.
His approach helped shape Steel n Ink into what it is today: a studio with a strong industry reputation, a loyal client base, and features in publications like Inked and Elle. What started as a seasonal shop in Sauble Beach has grown into a brand with over 20 studios across Canada, including the flagship Toronto location at The Well.
