Toronto's outdoor skating season kicks off and here's where to grab rentals

Is a successful Toronto winter ever complete without a spin on the ice rink? The answer to that question is no.

Enjoy the best of the season with Toronto Skate Rentals' two locations, open now until the end of February.

As the city's ultimate destination for quality rentals — including skates, helmets, assistive devices, and sharpening — Toronto Skate Rentals is excited to kick off the season.

The fun is happening at the Harbourfront Centre (opening Nov. 28) and Mel Lastman Square (opening Nov. 29), two of the city's most beautiful skating spots.

Skate rentals

Here’s how it works: each rented item comes with a two-hour rental period, with adult skates priced at $15 and children’s skates (12 and under) at $10.

Helmets and sharpening are each $10, while a skating aid can be rented for $15.

Forgot your cold-weather gear? Not to worry! You can also get accessories like hats and gloves, which can be purchased for $10 each.

Schedule and hours

Carve up the ice and do a twirl at the Harbourfront Centre location, where Toronto Skate Rentals is open from Monday to Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Don't forget the ice time adventures at Mel Lastman, which runs on Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Both shops will run until Feb. 28, weather permitting.

Toronto Skate RentalsPick from figure skating and hockey-style skates and hit the ice all winter long, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve. And be sure to check out the extra-long session at the Harbour Front Centre on New Year's Eve, which will run until 1 a.m.

New for this year

Harbourfront's expanded ice rink means this season is sure to be the best yet, and Toronto Skate Rentals is here to make sure it happens. This season also marks the new shop opening at Mel Lastman Square, which will no longer be underserved.

And since Toronto Skate Rentals also offers corporate events and private parties, you can bring the skating fun to everyone.  It couldn't be easier! Toronto Skate Rentals will bring the equipment right to you, essentially setting up a skate rental shop on the go.

Enjoy some of the city's best outdoor fun with Toronto Skate Rentals and get out on the ice, Toronto!
