From indulging in a little retail therapy to picking up your everyday essentials or getting a head start on holiday shopping, Toronto’s CityPlace and Fort York BIA offers no shortage of fantastic local businesses to explore.
This fall, the beloved neighbourhood is upping the ante with something special — a chance for shoppers to win sweet cash prizes.
With the support of the City of Toronto's Transit Construction Mitigation Fund and the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, the CityPlace and Fort York BIA recently hosted the Community Canvas and Culture Fest — which celebrated art, culture, fitness, and community spirit across several days in early October.
On Oct. 1, award-winning multidisciplinary artist Ben Johnston unveiled a large-scale ground mural in the heart of CityPlace and Fort York on the concrete plaza at Canoe Landing Park. The mural consists of large, colourful letters arranged together to spell ‘There’s No Place Like Home,’ and it's already proved to be a hit.
A celebration of its completion was held on Oct. 3 and Oct. 4, where residents and visitors gathered for festivities that included drop-in salsa lessons, a workout, food, a DJ set by Gimmemar, and other neighbourhood fun.
Don’t worry if you missed out on the Community Canvas and Culture Fest, because the CityPlace and Fort York BIA is keeping the celebrations going with an exciting passport promotion until the end of October.
Visitors can access a digital passport to collect stamps, unlock exclusive offers, and discover all the neighbourhood has to offer.
Plus, when you redeem offers on your passport, you’ll be entered into a raffle for the chance to win $1,000, $500, or $250, while supporting local businesses in the process. Sounds like a win-win!
To get your exclusive passport full of curated attractions, retailers, restaurants, and more, sign up on the CityPlace and Fort York BIA website.
From there, your passport will be instantly delivered to your phone via text and email and can be used as soon as you’d like. You can redeem any available discounts by presenting your phone to a staff member or attendant at participating businesses.
What are you waiting for? The CityPlace and Fort York BIA passport promotion runs from now until Friday, Oct. 31. Don’t miss your chance to explore the neighbourhood — and possibly win big in the process.
