There’s a free event happening in Toronto perfect for basketball fans, sports lovers, and anyone who wants to show some provincial pride.
On August 9 and 10, 2025, Sun Life and Canada Basketball will take over The Bentway for the Sun Life Canada Hoops 3x3 National Championships. Best of all, it’s completely free to attend!
Canada’s top under-23 squads will be facing off head-to-head in a lineup of epic matches across two days of competition.
Women’s and men’s teams from Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan are slated to participate. Now the question is, who will you cheer for!?
An awesome event requires a little star power, which is why Paige Crozon and Alex Johnson will be the athlete ambassadors for the event, cheering on the coast-to-coast teams.
Saskatchewan-born-and-raised Paige Crozon is a basketball player for the national women’s 3x3 team, and represented Canada at the 2024 Paris Olympics, while Ontario’s Alex Johnson has made a name for himself playing for the London Lightning.
To get to The Bentway, you can take TTC transit via the 511 Bathurst to Fort York Boulevard or the 509 Harbourfront to Fleet Street. There's also paid parking available at the Green P lots, located at 250 Fort York Blvd. and 800 Fleet St..
Can't make it down to the grounds? You can still get in on the action. The Sun Life Canada Hoops 3x3 national championships will be livestreamed online, so as long as you have a working phone or computer, you don’t have to miss any of the action.
View the entire schedule online, and head on down to the Bentway on Aug. 9 and 10 to cheer on Canada's most promising U23 basketball players in a series of epic showdowns, until one champion team remains.
